Welcome to Castle Cary Bowls Club. The club was founded in 1984 and enjoys a full programme of bowling during the season and a variety of events over the closed season. The club is affiliated to Bowls England and the Somerset Bowls Association.
We are a mixed club and cater for all ages and levels of lawn green bowls. Our members enjoy taking part in inter-club competitions as well as a mixed, ladies and mens league and friendly matches. Many of our members also enter the County and National competitions, and the club also enters the club National and County competitions. Our youngest member is 11 and the eldest is 90 and the remainder are at all ages in between.
New members are welcome to come along for a taster session on any Tuesday evening from 6.30pm, equipment and instruction available. There is no obligation - come along and take advantage of a couple of free sessions.
Other days/times willingly arranged.
So we come to the end of another season, over much too quickly. Fortunately we didn't lose too many games to the weather, and we did well in our leagues overall.
For our Charity Day at the end of the season we played our postponed Triples Day. Good weather, fine bowling and a lot of fun. What bowls is about.
Now that the green is to be put to bed, check out what we have going on over the winter. Noel and Pat are having a coffee morning, in aid of MacMillan, on Friday 13 October in the pavilion.
Have a good winter!
